We are being very strict on attire this year. In previous years students have worn open toed shoes, dresses, jeans, and other clothing that prohibited their ability to dance and had them at risk for injury while moving. Attire: Clothes that you can move in, socks and tennis shoes you can move in, we may remove shoes at times. Make sure you bring sunblock already applied and a water bottle.  If you already have a leotard you would like to wear to class, that is encouraged. If dancers have ballet or jazz shoes, they are encouraged to bring them. Students will not be allowed to dance if any clothing is difficult to move in. Hair must be pulled back and out of the face. No large hair clips or accessories. No large jewelry. No extra possessions should be brought including, toys, trinkets, and other things.

Snack time during class

While we are dancing it is very hot outside and dancers get exhausted very easily. This year we will allocate for a five minute snack break where students can re-energize and take a break. Snacks will not be provided for children who do not bring a snack. Snacks should be put away in cubbies until said otherwise. Regular quick drink breaks will be included during class.

All that is needed to bring to class each day for dancers tennis shoes, water bottle, and an optional snack. All items will be put away in cubbies until told otherwise.

What we will learn and help students improve: Basic Ballet positions, Chaînés, Chassé, Arabesque, Balancé, Piqué, Piqué Turns, Pirouettes, Plié, Grande Plié, Relevé, Leaps, Tilts, Tilt Leaps, and much more! We will improve their flexibility as well as their technique. We will focus heavily on Jazz, Hip-Hop and Contemporary/Lyrical this year. Other genres will appear in dances as well. Acro will be included in their dances, taught by Karlee Hodder.

We are very excited to showcase our 2021 production of "Alice in Wonderland". Ruby dancers will get the chance to audition for a role in our production. Sage dancers will be automatically assigned an ensemble role. Depending on which character your dancer is cast as depends on how many dances they will do. Each dancer will be in at least two dances, but likely more. Learn more about this year's production here

Please note that in all aspects of physical activity there is a risk of being injured and KT Dance is not responsible for any injury occurred during class.
